CO2 CAPTuring from nature-based building TILEs

Description of the project

The European project LIFE CAP-TILE aims to develop innovative and accessible solutions for green and sustainable architecture. Coordinated by Industrie Cotto Possagno SPA, the project involves international partners and is part of the LIFE program, which supports climate and environmental action projects.

Aim of the project

The project focuses on the integration of innovative clay tiles with urban greening systems that can include a layer of “mineral soil,” allowing plants to grow on green surfaces, such as roofs and facades, and helping to capture CO2 from the atmosphere.
Designed to be lightweight, modular, and easy to install, this solution aims to significantly reduce installation and maintenance costs, making green roofs and facades accessible even for residential buildings and low-income settings.
The new technologies will be tested in two real-world installations: a green roof and a green facade, to demonstrate their feasibility and effectiveness.
